Where is the entrance for public events?

If you're coming to an event, The Grand's public entrance is on Metropole Road East, to the north of the building, near the garage gates. Please see images below for reference.

Where is the entrance to Keppels?

The entrance to Keppels is through the garden on the eastern side of the building. Keppels can be found using What3Words: instructs.painted.nuns.

Is The Grand accessible for wheelchair users?

Accepted Answer

Yes. The public entrance is step-free and there is an accessible WC on the same floor. There is no public lift between the public rooms on the ground floor and Keppels at garden level, however if you are at an event and want to access Keppels, please speak to a member of the team. Keppels has step-free access.

Are dogs welcome?

Dogs are allowed in Keppels if they are kept on a lead and they do not sit on the furniture. Service dogs (only) are allowed upstairs for events.

No. The closest hotel is The Burlington and there is other accommodation available locally.

The Grand is owned by its residential leaseholders, the majority of whom are shareholders in the freehold company.

The nearest public underground car park is Leas Cliff Hall (10-minute walk). The Grand has no visitor parking on-site (residents only). Street parking outside uses Zone H rules (effective 24 August 2026):Free parking: (All year) Metropole Road East & West (8pm - 8am): Free The Leas (5pm - 11am): Free Summer (1 April - 30 September) Metropole Road (8am - 8pm): Pay & display / Zone H permit. The Leas (11am - 5pm): Pay & display / Zone H / resident discount permit. Winter (1 October - 31 March) Metropole Road (8am - 8pm): 3 hours free / Zone H permit. The Leas (11am - 5pm): 3 hours free / Zone H / resident discount permit. 2-hour no-return rule applies to free stays.
